: Dodgers sign utilityman Ozuna
Phoenix, AZ - The Los Angeles Dodgers signed utilityman
Pablo Ozuna, who was released by the Chicago White Sox a few days earlier.
He replaces rookie utilityman Luiz Maza, who was designated for assignment
with a .228 batting average.
Ozuna, who turns 34 next month, hit .281 in 34 games with the White Sox, and
can play all the positions in the infield and outfield. He will primarily be
featured at third base and left field.
The Dodgers will pay Ozuna a pro-rated portion of the league's minimum salary.
The White Sox will pay the remainder of his $1.05 million salary this year and
his $200,000 buyout of his salary next year.
