BASEBALL : Tigers' Jones headed back to DL
Detroit, MI - The Detroit Tigers put veteran reliever Todd Jones back on the disabled list on Sunday, just two days after he was activated from the DL.

Jones had been sidelined since July 31 with inflammation in his right shoulder, and was ripped for five runs -- none earned -- on three hits in two- thirds of an inning during Friday's 11-2 loss to the Indians. He returned to the DL on Sunday, this time with a sore right shoulder.

The 40-year-old right-hander lost his job as Detroit's closer earlier in the season. He is 4-1 with a 4.97 ERA in 45 appearances this season, with 18 saves in 21 opportunities.

The Tigers also recalled right-handed pitcher Gary Glover from Triple-A Toledo on Sunday. Glover was 1-2 with a 5.82 ERA in 29 appearances for the Rays earlier this season before he was released in early August. The Tigers signed him on August 9.
