Razz
Razz (7 Card Stud Low) is an exciting game in which you make the best Low poker hand from any 5 of the 7 cards you are dealt. Like 7 Card Stud, you receive 2 cards face down then 4 up cards with the 7th card being dealt face down. At showdown, you can use any 5 of your 7 cards to make your best low hand. The lowest high card determines the best low hand. In the event of a tie, the pot is split (suit rankings do not apply in determining the winner).
Razz is similar to 7 Card Stud with the following exceptions:
Straights and Flushes do not count against the lowest hand
Aces are low (Ace, 2, 3, 4, 5 is the best possible hand in Razz)
The high card (instead of the low) is required to make the forced bet on the first betting round
The low hand acts first on all subsequent betting rounds
ANTE
You, like all other players, must ante before any
cards are dealt.
BETTING
You are dealt two down cards, hole cards, and one
up card. Action begins on the player with the highest face-up
card. If two players or more are tied with the same card, the
first to act will be the player with the highest suit according
to the following order (highest to lowest): spades, hearts, diamonds
and clubs. This player may act, fold, or place the Bring-In amount
(a forced bet). You won’t have to worry much about who goes first
etc, the software will prompt the player who is to begin the
betting. After the initial bet, three more up cards are delivered
(with a round of betting after each card), then a final down
card and a final round of betting.
Betting Structure
Our software enforces the betting limits. The stakes being offered at the particular table determines the limit or maximum bet on any player's turn. For example, at a $1-$2 table, the limit on any bet is $1 on the first two betting rounds and $2 on the final three betting rounds. We allow one bet and 3 raises in our card room. The final raise is capped and the only options you have are to call or fold at this point.
SHOWDOWN
The first person to show their hand is the player who was the first bettor or last raiser. Only those players that beat the shown hand have to show their cards. The player with the lowest hand wins the pot. In the event of a tie, the pot is split evenly (suit rankings are not used to determine the winner). Remember: Straights and Flushes have no ranking and Aces are low.
Noteworthy: It is important to note that our Razz tables allow 8 players to be seated. In the unlikely event that all 8 players are still in the hand when 7th Street is dealt, the total number of cards needed for all the players to receive their own card would not be available in a standard deck of cards. In this case the 7th Street is dealt face up on the table and it will be used as a community card.
