"All In" Policies Including Server Crashes and Free Disconnects

When you put the last of your chips into the pot, you are said to be "all in."

You cannot be forced from a hand due to having an insufficient number of chips to call a bet; you are allowed to call for the amount you have. The remainder of the original bet is returned to the player who made it, or a side pot is created if one or more other players call the original bet.

Policy Regarding Disconnections and Not Acting on a Hand

In order to protect your chips in the event of a connection problem, you are allotted a specified number of “free disconnects” per day. Your free-disconnect tally is shown in the upper-left corner of the table window. If you have at least one free disconnect left and your connection is lost during a hand, you will be considered all-in. This simply means that your hand will be played out with the amount that you have already placed in the pot for that hand. If your cards go on to win the hand, you are eligible to win a portion of the pot up to that amount (due to the fact that you did not have to call all bets made during the hand, as the others in the hand did). A “side pot” is created that is eligible to be won by the remaining players (as is the main pot). Keep in mind, however, that this only holds true if your free-disconnect tally is greater than 0. If you show 0 free disconnects remaining and time out for any reason, your hand will be folded. Your number of free disconnects may change from time to time based on server conditions. Unless otherwise specified, players will begin each day with 3 free disconnects.

The game server is able to determine connectivity to the client software running on your system. A player will only be put all-in if disconnected from the server; if a player has not lost his/her connection to the server and fails to act on a hand, his/her hand will simply be folded.

Abuse of your free disconnects may cause you to be banned from play. We take the integrity of our cardroom very seriously, and reserve the right to ban any player at our management's discretion. If a player is suspected of abusing the all-in protection privillage, the account will immediately be suspended pending the outcome of a complete investigation.

Should you find yourself with 0 free disconnects, you may request a reset by clicking on the chip rack at your table and selecting the option. Your request will be sent to our support staff for review, and will be granted pending management approval. Resets are not automatically granted; if you choose to play with 0 free disconnects, you do so at your own risk.

Players MUST accept the risk of disconnections, which can and do occur. Please consult with your ISP concerning what actions can be taken to limit the likelihood of disconnections. World Poker Exchange assumes no responsibility for disconnections, regardless of their cause.
