Room Rules

Registration and use of your World Sports Exchange account indicates acceptance of these rules. Failure to agree to and/or follow these rules shall result in the suspension or revocation of your play privileges. In cases in which disputes arise between players, judgments of World Sports Exchange shall be final, binding, and conclusive in all matters. World Sports Exchange shall under no circumstances be held responsible for any claims for losses or damages.

Some of the information given below is covered elsewhere on the site; these rules have been assembled here for quick and easy reference by our players.

Players
When you play Poker at World Sports Exchange, keep in mind that you are competing against other players via the Internet; you are not competing against World Sports Exchange. Participation in our games is voluntary and at the player's sole discretion and risk.

Eligibility
To be eligible to play at World Sports Exchange, you must be a resident of legal age in a country in which such play is not prohibited.

Age Limit
You MUST be 18 years of age or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is greater.

Legality
This is a legal game under the jurisdiction of the Government of Cyprus.

Inactive Accounts
If a player’s account remains inactive for a period of 1 year and has a balance of less than 10 dollars, the account shall be closed and the balance forfeited.

Prize Payments
Winnings ("prizes") are paid using United States of America legal currency.

Taxes and Duties
All taxes, duties, and fees applicable in connection with any prize or prizes awarded to a player are his/her sole responsibility.

Cards
The deck used is a standard 52-card deck with no wild cards. The deck is shuffled before each hand.

Betting Limits
The stakes specified at a particular table determine the limit, or maximum bet, on each player's turn. For example, at a $2/$4 table, the limit on any bet is $2 in the first betting round and $4 in subsequent betting rounds.

Cap on Raises
In ring games at World Sports Exchange, we allow a bet and 3 raises per betting round. At 1-on-1 tables, we allow 1 bet with 5 raises.

Betting Order
Betting proceeds in a clockwise direction, starting with the player to the left of the dealer button.

Straddle Bets
Straddle bets are not allowed at World Sports Exchange.

Sitting Out
Once you miss three big blinds or 30 hands while sitting out of a game, you will be removed from the table. If you suspect that you will be sitting out for this length of time, it is considerate to leave the table in order to make your seat available to another player.

Table Stakes Only
You can only wager the chips you have on the table at the beginning of a hand; additional chips can only be obtained between hands. If you run out of chips during a hand, you are considered “all in.”

Minimum Buy-In
The minimum buy-in is 10 times the smallest bet at each table. So, for example, you would need at least $100 to enter a $10-$20 game, $50 to enter a $5-$10 game, and $20 to enter a $2-$4 game.

Player Chat
All chat must be in English only. Verbal abuse of other players and the use of inappropriate language are not allowed. If your chat is reported to or observed by management as abusive or offensive, your chat function will be disabled and your playing privileges may be revoked. Chatting during play can make the game more enjoyable, but can also be distracting to others, so the rules of common courtesy should be observed at all times.

“Free Disconnects” and Server Crashes
In order to protect your chips in the event of a connection problem, you are allotted a specified number of “free disconnects” per day. Your free-disconnect tally is shown in the upper-left corner of the table window. If you show 0 free disconnects remaining and you time out for any reason, your hand will be folded. Your number of free disconnects may change from time to time based on server conditions.

The game server is able to determine connectivity to the client software running on your system. The use of a free disconnect will only apply when a player is actually disconnected from the server; if a player has not lost his/her connection to the server and fails to act on a hand, his/her hand will simply be folded.

Should you find yourself with 0 free disconnects, you may request a reset by clicking on the chip rack at your table and selecting the option. Your request will be sent to our support staff for review, and will be granted pending management approval. Resets are not automatically granted; if you choose to play with 0 free disconnects, you do so at your own risk.

Players MUST accept the risk of disconnections, which can and do occur. Please consult with your ISP concerning what actions can be taken to limit the likelihood of disconnections. World Sports Exchange assumes no responsibility for disconnections, regardless of their cause.

Posting of Blinds
Each player is required to post the small blind and the big blind once per round. If a player misses posting one or more blinds due to sitting out, he/she is required to post an additional big blind upon re-entry to the game. Players who attempt to avoid posting their blinds by jumping in and out of a game may lose their playing privileges at World Sports Exchange.

Waiting List
If you wish to participate in a game that is already at full capacity, you have the option of joining the wait list. Each time a player departs the game, his/her seat is filled by the player at the top of the wait list, which is kept in order of registration on the list. To join the wait list, simply click “Join Wait List” on the full table at which you want to play. You will be notified when a seat becomes available, and will be given the option of joining the table or being removed from the wait list. To join the game, just click “Join Table” and you will be taken to your seat.
